A Comparison With 1D Four Descriptor and Generic Fourier Descriptor on Khmer OCR

Feature extraction is an important part to Optical Character Recognition. Many shape descriptors exist. Among them 1D Fourier Descriptor has proved itself to be efficient in term of accuracy computational cost. However, Fourier Descriptor has the drawback of losing region information. To overcome this, Generic Fourier Descriptor has been proposed. In this paper, we make a study and comparison of 1D Fourier Descriptor with Generic Fourier Descriptor to show their performance on Khmer OCR.
